The Software - "Whole Farm Planning and Reporting"

Agresearch provides NZ Farmsure softwareNZ Farmsure has made available a software package, developed by AgResearch Ltd, to enable farmers to participate more fully in the programme.

The package, called Whole Farm Planning and Reporting, enables the participant to record details about their social responsibility plans, land and environment plans, and animal management plans.

Land and Environmental Plan

The Land and Environmental Plan (LMP) section allows summary and detail input regarding all the resources, land forms and features of the various parts of the farm, their resource strengths and limitations, and the environmental issues associated with each. Details of annual plans are recorded, and then all participants - owners, managers, and consultants - are encouraged to sign off on these plans. A large number of reports are available presenting material recorded in various formats and with a range of focuses.   Details . . .

Animal Management Plan

The Animal Management Plan (AMP) section is even more comprehensive and detailed, recording production systems, goals and policies, stock numbers, and feed plans, shade and shelter plans, agreed practices in stock handling, and a wide range of animal health recording and action plans.   Details . . .

Social Responsibility Plan

In the SRP section, farm details are recorded, then the participant is encouraged to pledge their commitment to Farmsure, and to indicate how they are prepared promote its principles and how they plan to support their community.

Details of their employees may be entered, along with ideas of how their training may be improved. The farmer can record such things as details about the heritage areas and sites of significance on the farm, and how these may be preserved for future generations.   Details . . .
